PLENARY: Stacey Abrams’ Keynote Address

GCIR is thrilled to have Stacey Abrams—political trailblazer, nonprofit CEO, serial entrepreneur, and New York Times—bestselling author—deliver the keynote address. A powerful and passionate speaker, Ms. Abrams is recognized for her candid insights on leadership, social justice, and being a true force for change. She is a living embodiment of this year’s conference theme, Courage, Vision, Action. For this keynote address, she will take the stage to electrify and inspire leaders in philanthropy and the immigrant justice movement—and welcome audience questions afterwards.

Ms. Abrams served in the Georgia House of Representatives for 11 years, including seven years as Minority Leader. In 2018, she became the Democratic nominee for Governor of Georgia, making her the first black woman in the history of the United States to be nominated by a major party for governor.

Ms. Abrams went on to launch Fair Fight to ensure every Georgian has a voice in the election system. Over the course of her career, she has founded multiple organizations devoted to voting rights, training and hiring young people of color, and tackling social issues at both the state and national levels.
